Describe your business.
Boxabl is a patented building manufacturing technology that aims to revolutionize housing markets worldwide. We plan to slash housing costs by 50 percent and build time by 90 percent.
How was the concept conceived?
After dealing with the problems of stick-built and modular homes, the headaches of finding contractors, dealing with weather, site theft and labor shortages, we realized there had to be a better way. We wondered why housing was not built like everything else in the modern world, in a factory, taking advantage of economies of scale, specialization of labor and assembly-line factory production efficiencies.
Describe the process.
Customers visit our online configurator, customize their home and click order. They select a certified assembly specialist, and rooms can arrive on site as quickly as the next day. The rooms are unpacked and dropped into place by a crane. An assembly specialist completes finishing touches, and it’s home sweet home.
Who are your clients?
Boxabl caters to large developers who can help us build up our factories and supply lines. As the company develops, we plan to take on the homeowner and end user.
What sets you apart from a traditional home build?
Speed, quality, customizability, price and customer experience. Boxabl is not only about building cheaper houses, it is a humanitarian mission. With this massive cost savings comes increased accessibility, better living conditions for all, and immediate relief for those affected by natural disasters.
Why did you choose to do business in Nevada?
Nevada feels like the home of entrepreneurship. If someone says you can’t do something. you can just point to the sphinx on Las Vegas Boulevard and say, “Yes, you can.” More practically, Nevada has the wisdom not to impose either an income tax or a company inventory tax. Finally, municipal officials in Las Vegas are pro-business. We’ve been personally welcomed with open arms.
What is your business philosophy?
We are in business to provide value to people, that’s it.
What’s the best business advice you’ve received?
Be honest and realistic with yourself and others. Set big goals and slice them up one bite at a time. Work 24/7. Hit back hard if you’ve been treated unfairly. Build your brand. Understand what you’re great at and understand what you’re poor at. Never give up but know when something is not working. Surround yourself with ultrasmart, loyal people committed to the cause.
What is the best part about doing business in Las Vegas?
Speed, quality, customization, price and customer experience. Boxabl is not only about building cheaper houses, it is a humanitarian mission. With this massive cost savings comes increased accessibility, better living conditions for all, and immediate relief for those affected by natural disasters.
Government feels less intrusive, so the people feel freer. Everyone seems to be from somewhere else, so they made a choice to come here — and I believe that makes for a better cross-section of talent. And of course the desert, the mountains and the endless activities available, no matter your interests.
